I'm burning off end-of-year vacation time by writing Alexa skills. (My company has a use-it-or-lose-it vacation policy!) So I have five in the pipeline that are in states between submitted and revision. Now that Memo has clarified how easy it is to give people access to pre-release skills, it would be great to get another set of eyes on some of these. I get too familiar with them and forget to explore some of the corners. So if any of the skills below catches your eye, please send your e-mail to jo@111george.com and I'll enable you. [b]21 Blackjack[/b] [i]This skill allows you to play blackjack, also known as 21, with The Echo as the dealer. You can ask her to "deal", and then "hit" or "stand" as the cards fall. Win or lose, your fate is remembered. You can check your score to see if you are winning more than you are losing. If you are unsure if it is wise to make a play, you can ask for "advice".[/i] Submitted. [b]Acoustic Metronome[/b] [i]This is an acoustical metronome that plays a regular drumbeat. You can use it to time things, or to help you keep the beat while practicing music. You can pick any rate between 40 and 199 beats per minute. It will play the beats for up to 90 seconds. If you want more, you can ask it to repeat, or switch to a new rate. [b]Acoustic Tuner[/b] [i]If you play any musical instrument (or sing) it is important to keep in pitch. Whether it is a guitar, clarinet or sousaphone, if you aren't in pitch, and you play with other people, you are just going to make noise.[/i] Submitted. Allows users to confess their secrets, and listen to other user's secrets. [/i] In development. Trying to refine the voice interface.
