Hi All, I would like to use my Echo to manipulate the temperature on a popular wireless thermostat (i.e. "Alexa, tell to raise the temperature 3 degrees", etc.), but I am having trouble choosing an invocation name. Obviously I can't use the name of the thermostat as my invocation name, since that name is copyrighted IP, and I wouldn't want to keep the manufacturers from writing their own Alexa skill anyway. So what invocation name should I choose that makes logical sense but won't step on anyone's toes? Thanks, - J
You can be more generic. I wrote a UPS tracker, but I called it Package Tracker. There's limited scope in Alexa for coming up with unique names. But you can try coming up with combinations that allude. For, example, try "Thermo Master" and see if it recognizes "Thermo" as its own word. Or "Climate Changer", "Temp Control".
