IAP v2 compatability conflict w Html5 hybrid apps - IAP v1 drop dead date?

What is the drop dead date for IAP v1.0.3? Just discovered that IAP 1.0.3 was recently deprecated and replaced with IAP v2 on or around July 11, 2014. 'Thread: IAP v21 v2 Overview' Download SDK v2 contents In order to build a Html5 hybrid app maximizing the screen layout while still providing access to the menu bar icons requires the API version to be set to API 10, other wise the overflow icon will not appear as does in the v1.0.3 SDK version SampleSoftkeyConfigurationActivity.apk ref: Soft Key Bar It appears that in order to get the overflow icon to appear, the SDK sample .xml Manifest required the 'uses-sdk' element to require the 'android:minSdkVersion' attribute to be: uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="10" and had the attribute 'android:targetSdkVersion' removed to allow rendering of the icon. This is the only way the user would then have access to Android tasks outside the Amazon WebView while viewing full screen. The APK version detail was never resolved: Re: Overflow menu icon on soft key bar - Html5 hybrid app Posted: Jun 26, 2014 4:14 AM Thank you for posting. I am checking with concerned team about this issue. I will get back to you on this shortly. In an attempt to use the v2 release, any attempt to compile with in-app-purchasing-2.0.0.jar results in Eclipse error: Using 1.7 requires compiling with Android 4.4 (KitKat); currently using API 17 SampleIAPEntitlementApp Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat on September 3, 2013 This means the new IAP v2 requires API ver 19 or higher, if one believes the Eclipse error is correct. This also means that any attempt to build a Html5 hybrid app wont allow the SoftKey menu bar to reveal the screen maximized without the status bar, the title bar and the SoftKey bar minimzied, allowing for the overflow menu icon to be accessible as in the SDK example SampleSoftkeyConfigurationActivity.apk. This cripples development for hybrids apps for currently owned KF HD7 2&3gen hardware estimated in excess of 15M units. As v1.0.3 currently is the solution for an app developer to perform an in app purchase to allow for a 'freemium' distribution model, What is the drop dead date for IAP v1.0.3?

Hi robin, Although we do recommend to use IAP v2 with enhanced features, there is currently no drop date for IAP v1. So you can still submit apps using with v1 whenever needed.
