Is it possible to do a wild card case insensitive search/filtering?

The only filtering that I'm able to do right now is Case Sensitive, begins with character search. Ideally, we would like to perform a case insensitive wildcard search. Is it possible through the existing API? nodes?filters=name:({query}*)
