Payment Clarification

I have just received an email reply in response to a query regarding payments. I thought I'd post it here to clarify why payment is made in respect of the shipping date and not the order date. When is a sale recognized? While we report near real time purchases in the Merch by Amazon portal, Amazon does not recognize a sale until the item is shipped to the end customer. We do this for several reasons including: we don't charge the customer until shipment, items can be canceled prior to shipment, and we may find a design that is not printable and will therefore have to cancel the customer's purchase. Each month the earnings tab inside of "Analyze" will show how many of your customers' purchases were shipped, and therefore counted as sales.

By the way, this information is in the FAQ, but my original uncertainty was based upon how few orders were given as shipped in October. At the time I sent the email (about 10 days ago) I thought orders would go out within 48 hours :-)

Thanks for posting this but I'm so confused... My earnings tab, inside of Analyze says: 'Estimated earnings for October 2015' and of course the page is blank since my first sale was 11/7/15. But I'm wondering why it still says October? When I click on All in the 'select month' box, nothing happens. I know my sales have shipped but there is nothing showing on the Earnings Page. Shouldn't I be able to see Earnings for November? Thanks in advance

The way it works at the moment is that earnings seem to update as a one time thing - for example, the October earnings showed mid/late November as I recall. You won't have any real idea of your previous month's earnings until then. Although I have seen cancelled orders in my product purchases summary, so hopefully all others actually go through as sales, but allow for maybe 2 weeks delay on shipment, so expect to only get paid for the first 2 weeks of November at start of January as an estimate.

Thanks for the help Maverick Merchant. Earnings for November were just posted this week, this captures all sales that were shipped in November. Shipments are now taking 1-2 weeks to process (print and fulfill) so you will only see orders from late October that shipped in November up until about mid-November. We post the earnings report in about the second week of the month, so you should see December earnings posted by mid-January.
