Question on Free Kindle Offer

Hello. I'ts not clear on the rules which is the case regarding the July 25th and Sept 1st period: A) the app must be a completely new app, with its 1st version submitted to Amazon Store between July 25th and September 1st B) an updated version of an existing app must be submitted to Amazon Store between those dates C) the first Ad Request using the app id must be made between those dates Could someone clear me up on this? Thanks.

This is directly from the email that mentions the offer I received from amazon: "A "Qualifying App" is any mobile app that is submitted to the Amazon Mobile App Distribution Portal between and including July 25th and September 1st, 2013. Apps that have sent ad requests to Amazon using the Amazon Mobile Ads API prior to July 25, 2013 are not Qualifying Apps. A developer's Qualifying Apps must send at least 500 ad requests every week during the Offer Period. (Each week begins at 12:01 a.m. Sunday and ends at 11:59 p.m. Saturday.) This offer is only open to developers who send the required number of ad requests for the entire Offer Period. A developer may use a single Qualifying App or multiple Qualifying Apps to generate the 500 weekly ad requests as long as the Qualifying Apps are registered to a single developer account. " However this does not clear up the question I had which is does an update to a previous app count as a qualifying app?

Hi Pedro, The answer for your questions A and B is : A "Qualifying App" is any mobile app that has integrated the Amazon Mobile Ads API and is submitted to the Amazon Mobile App Distribution Portal between and including July 25th and September 1st, 2013. Apps that have sent ad requests to Amazon using the Amazon Mobile Ads API prior to July 25, 2013 are not Qualifying Apps. i.e. either a new app with Amazon ads or a new version of an existing app (the earlier version must not have integrated) is qualified. The answer for your question C is : Yes. The app must not send ad request prior or after the date mentioned above.

Offer mentions 500 weekly requests. It is 'requests' and not impressions right? just confirming if my understanding is correct. Thanks.

Hi Mdr, If you are implementing ads for the free Kindle promotion note that we are only requiring requests, not impressions, so you will still qualify.

Qualifying developers must be reachable through the email addresses registered on the Distribution Portal. Amazon will attempt to ship the Kindle Fire HD device to qualifying developers in the U.S. and other countries. However, Amazon is not responsible for customs or taxes required for international deliveries.

Will there be any contact from amazon, or way to ensure we are in the program prior to the end date? This a very nice promotion, thank you amazon. Also how long after the end date can we expect the kindle? Thank you, David

Once an app has been submitted for the free kindle fire promotion, will the developer be able to update the app? Or does it have to remain the same throughout the entire promotion to be eligible?

Developer can submit new version with in this period. We count only the ad requests, so your new version should contain the ad also. Thanks.
