Kindle fire offer : why do I have to pay taxes ?

Hi, As described here : https://developer.amazon.com/post/Tx3PAVYPJ1VAM8L/Hundreds-of-Developers-will-Receive-Kindle-Fire-HD-Devices-from-the-Amazon-Mobil.html "For international developers, where the Kindle Fire HDX was not yet available to ship, we are covering the taxes and import duty on the Kindle Fire HD." So why do I have to pay taxes ? (30€) Is there something to do to have a refund ? Best regards,

I don't get why they ship from the US anyway. I mean it's not like Amazon is the largest online retailer with hundreds of warehouses around the globe and in almost every (developed) country, right…
