In germany I had to pay the taxes directly to the DHL Express guy who brought the package (20€) and yes same here I got the Fire HD without cam and with only 5GB, but hey every body is complaining and I want to say: Thanks Amazon! I got a device for free and as long amazon will pay me for the ads (this seems to take some time) I'm happy. For those who are unhappy with their older devices see it this way: now you can test the minimal requirements of you apps ;)

I think they may have made a mistake, I just went to my local DHL delivery place to pick mine up and found it wasn't there, it had been recalled by Amazon with the reason "sent wrong product".

I've already received mine, I wonder how they're going to sort that out. They can't just ignore the developers who have already received their (wrong) kindles... can they?

Honestly this isn't really like Amazon, usually they are more precise and organized. An official statement would be good... This silence is strange e and what's happening, with not yet Kindles being recalled without any explanation, leads to any sort of speculation. They sent to the wrong addresses (we did receive mixed shipment notices, but then devices were already on their way to the right shipping addresses), we received a lower specs device than what was promised in Terms and Conditions (and with wrong US accessories), some paid customs where it was stated that they shouldn't (I didn't pay anything, for me it was ok), and now some devices are being recalled. (I won't speak of the upgrade to HDX only for US developers...) So now what ? I've also opened a ticket, but I only got as an answer that my case would be escalated to the right team. As a side note, apart from lower specs (not expandable 8GB memory is really limited for many purposes other than simple testing), I've discovered the Kindle Fire family, and I'm really impressed at the slick interface and integration. Really excellent, impossibble to get at a comparable cost from any other vendor.

How to open ticket? Even i also received kindle but its 8gb nw what to do? They r going to exchange it?

Now that's what I call a great response! Just received a mail from Amazon saying that I'll receive a HDX and should donate the Kindle Fire HD to a local organisation :)
