AdvertiserID, where is the update?

From Google: Beginning 8/1/14, Google requires that all updates and new apps uploaded to the Play Store use the Advertising ID (when available on a device) in lieu of any other device identifiers for any advertising purposes. This came from Google over a year ago. Just about every SDK and especially from every large ad provider has been updated. It takes time for developers to add a new SDK, test it, and get it out to users. When are you guys going to give this update to us? We all have release cycles and there is 5 weeks till we can no longer release any app or update any app on the Google Play Store with your current SDK. Please give us a timeline! We were told first week of June.

This should be a query from every single user on this forum. Starting August 1st, you can no longer use the SDK you have now or else apps will get banned from the Play Store. Any existing app that will never be updated again will be fine, but new apps or any app we update will need the new SDK. The fact that this is delayed so long is a big concern for us all. We have planned one more release in June and one release in July. Then one again mid August and if there is no updated SDK with time for testing, Amazon is going to lose a lot of developers.

I have received a reply that the new SDK should be available to download by end of the week, so there is nothing to worry about! :)

I appreciate that, but I had heard that before directly from account managers at Amazon. They said the first week of June, then the second week of June. Still nothing. I do disagree that there is something to worry about for developers that may have to update many apps. This SDK update should have been available last month....

Hi, We are working on it and we are aware of the deadline . Officially I cannot comment on the ETA. Please stay tuned on Mobile App Distribution Portal or Blogs ( https://developer.amazon.com/blog/index.html) for any updates related to this. Thanks.

I have to say, this is not helpful. The deadline is a deadline for developers....you guys should have an internal deadline much earlier than that so we as developers have enough time to actually update to the new SDK.

I find it interesting that I am the only one posting about this here. It sounds like no ETA on this means you guys are very far behind?

Hello amazonaduser, We generally do not comment on the timeline of upcoming releases, but we can confirm that Amazon Mobile Ads API support for Google Play Services Advertising ID is in its final stages of development and will be released shortly. This thread will be updated when the API becomes available. Thanks Matt
