Geo-location data forbidden in EU, do we need to test for this?

From https://developer.amazon.com/public/support/mobileads/publisher-agreement.html : "you will provide such geo-location data to us only if (1) the end user is not located in the European Union ..." Does this mean we have to check if we are inside the EU before calling AdTargetingOptions().enableGeoLocation(true)? Or is the SDK smart enough to detect if the user is in the EU from within enableGeoLocation()?

The Amazon Mobile Ads API will determine whether or not you are in the EU. When inside of the EU, the SDK will disable the lat long feature.
