[Q] Fire OS ''developer version''

There was a developer version mentioned but according to the fire phone support staff, the (actual quote): ''technical team is still working on developer version [...] When we're ready to announce developer version, we'll definitely provide bootloader unlock code on our website. Is this information still relevant? If so, can this version be expected in the first half of 2016?

Just to be clear, this not about a "Fire OS 5 developer preview" but a developer version including access to the bootloader.

The lack of an official response fits the general support for this device. Fire Phone = lost cause.
