Control over app release after approval?

Hi, Once an app is approved, is it automatically released to the public? Or is there a way for us to control that step? Thanks! Message was edited by: kurtreiner

Hi Kurtreiner, Thank you for writing to us. When you submit an app via the Amazon Mobile Apps Distribution Portal, the Amazon Apps team will start the review process. You can track the status of your app at any time by logging into the Distribution Portal, going to the My Apps tab, and finding your app. If we have a question about your app or determine it does not meet one or more of our acceptance criteria, we will notify you using the email address associated with your account and provide guidance on next steps. We will also notify you once your app successfully completes the testing process and is published live. When an app is in the "approved" status, it has passed the technical testing portion of the submission. It's now moved on to the content team, where its product information page is being developed. Depending on the app, this process time can vary. Once the status says "live" in the Amazon Mobile Apps Distribution Portal, the app will be available for purchase on Amazon.

Is there a way for us to control or coordinate this? We release updates every couple of weeks on iOS, Google Play, and PC. The versions need to be kept in sync for various technical or sometimes marketing reasons. Over the previous couple of months we've held back on releasing the update after iOS approval anywhere from one day to one week.

Hi Kutreiner, You can submit in advance, as soon as the binary is ready, and place the future release date on it so it will be queued up to go out.

I am also interested in this. We want to coordinate release of our app across several platforms and do the release as soon as possible. Since the time required to complete the approval process is unknown, we need the ability to select the release date after the approval process has been completed. Is this possible? The answers posted thus far do not clearly answer the question.

Yes, it's doable. What you need to do are 1. Complete the app, set a future release date, submit to us before in pretty advance (at least 15-20 days). 2. Wait till we complete the review process. 3. Once we approve your app, write a ContactUs ( https://developer.amazon.com/help/contactus.html) ASAP with a request of changing of Future Date. 4. We will do it on behalf of you.
