Standards support for 802.11abgn

I have a question regarding the support for the wireless standards for the Kindle Fire HD 7". Has the unit been more recently certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance? I see a certification ( Certification ID: WFA12463 ) that had, at the time, only certified the units for 2.4GHz and 1 spatial stream but I can see on this website that the units are now listed as 802.11abgn. I own a unit and I know it does support 5GHz but I am interested in how many spatial streams it now has. I am hoping someone can help me. Thank you for your time, R David Paine III http://www.weirdave.com

Hello David, Thank you for your post. Cert WFA12463 relates to an eink Kindle touch not Kindle fire family. All Amazon products have been subject to all regulatory approvals for all markets in which they are sold. Kindle Fire 1 & 2 serials beginning D01E and D026 are 802.11b/g/n 2.4 GHZ only Kindle Fire HD 7/8.9 inch are 802.11a/b/g/n 2.4 GHZ and 5GHZ supporting 2 * MIMO on 802.11n. Hope this helps.
