We have a video player app in the store that allows users to download movies from our kiosks (located in airports, train stations and other locations without reliable broadband). We tested the app on Kindle Fire by sideloading and it has excellent performance. Downloads work great, video plays beautifully, file management works as expected, etc. The app is approved and available in the store, but when we attempt to download it to a Kindle Fire via Amazon, we get an "application not compatible for this device" error. Does anyone know where we can get more details on this error? Or how do we make sure that Kindle Fire users do not get this error? Thank you for any help!
Hi Digiboo, Thank you for your post. We consider a variety of factors as we evaluate each app for Kindle Fire Tablets, including the quality of experience the app offers and compatibility with the device. While our goal is to offer a broad and compelling assortment to Kindle Fire Tablet customers, not all apps available through Amazon Apps are currently available on Kindle Fire Tablets.
Thanks again Sujoy. We've submitted a request for specific details via the "Contact Us" form and are hopeful we'll get some granular guidance on how we can meet the Kindle Fire's compatibility requirements.
