GPS on, but satnav apps say its off

Hi, im having a bit of trouble with the GPS, basically I downloaded A GPS app called here maps or something (its a third party app) and I turned GPS on and it keeps telling me to turn it on. Its not just that app tho I have had GPS Problems with other apps too. Any help would be highly appreciated, thx ☺
