UDP Broadcast

I have an issue running our app on 2nd gen Kindle Fire. This issue does not present itself on 1st gen Kindle Fire, nor the Kindle Fire HD. The problem is in the reception of UDP broadcast packets. By broadcast I mean datagram packets sent to 255.255.255.255. Some devices from other Android manufacturers (namely HTC) will not receive UDP broadcast unless you acquire a MulticastLock. This solution works with absolutely every device we have ever tested with, aside from the 2nd gen Kindle Fire (non-HD model). Is this a known issue? Thanks in advance for any possible insight.

We have not observed any generic issues with Kindle Fire (2nd Gen) related to reception of UDP broadcast packets. However we would like to further investigate on this issue. Please raise a ContactUs ( https://developer.amazon.com/help/contactus.html) with your app details and corresponding code snippet/API details so that we can progress further on this issue.
