Lots of crashes during from October 29th to November 1st

I have an application that usually runs smoothly everywhere. The current version is in the app store since october 10th (previous versions since february). No crashes until October 29th, when suddenly it crashed everywhere. There was some OS update pushed to the kindle devices during those days? This is my stack trace: java.lang.RuntimeException at android.app.ActivityThread.handleCreateService(ActivityThread.java:2598) at android.app.ActivityThread.access$1600(ActivityThread.java:143) at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(ActivityThread.java:1324) at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:146) at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:5117) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:511) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:793) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:560) at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) Caused by: java.lang.SecurityException at android.os.Parcel.readException(Parcel.java:1425) at android.os.Parcel.readException(Parcel.java:1379) at android.app.INotificationManager$Stub$Proxy.enqueueNotificationWithTag(INotificationManager.java:417) at android.app.NotificationManager.notify(NotificationManager.java:132) at android.app.NotificationManager.notify(NotificationManager.java:108) at com.zzzalarm.service.ZzzAlarmService.scheduleAlarm(ZzzAlarmService.java:630) at com.zzzalarm.service.ZzzAlarmService.onCreate(ZzzAlarmService.java:182) at android.app.ActivityThread.handleCreateService(ActivityThread.java:2588) ... 10 more

Hello Paolo, I am a recent purchaser of a KF HD7 for development testing. I had a near flawless experience until just this week, Oct 28th or there abouts. Then mysterious anomalies that I just couldn't explain. I also noted a rash of KF HD general help forum posts around the same time I created mine. The latest is that I'm not able to d/l apps from the App Store. After a forum post, a day wait and a 'ContactUs' email, it was requested I call. After two hours on the phone with support, I felt it was like pulling teeth to get what seem like a simple request as to whether a recent update occurred. In short, I'll be forced to perform a factory default reset, and from experience, we know that means some loss of data. Regarding your question on whether "There was some OS update pushed to the kindle devices during those days?" Starting making notes and came across detail that might shed some light on your inquiry. While I am unsure why there is a system version and app settings version difference, I did note that the version data there today, is different from that of the day after purchase. It appears that auto updates do occur, and quite frequently. As you can see, both the app settings and Silk browser versions are changing. This may not be the complete answer you are seeking, but passing along this detail may help you gain some insight while comparing with your device. Robin My original version notes - I wasn't aware of the app settings ver until recently, but it has changed in the last two days, sadly didn't record the version, only noted the date. Hi Robin, thanks for the reply. It looks like the crashes have gone away: maybe another date was pushed to the devices, or maybe it was a temporary outage somewhere in the cloud. We will never know unless an Amazon guy will tell us. Cheers, Paolo
