Wifi P2P and Bluetooth connectivity

I am writing an app that will use wifi p2p: http://developer.android.com/reference/android/net/wifi/p2p/package-summary.html Is this possible in the latest fire os3? It says it supports api level 17.

Hi Chris, Thank you for writing to us. android.net.wifi.p2p package is added in API level 14 and all our Kindle tablets are having OS of higher than this version except Kindle Fire 1st Gen though. So this should be supported in new and old devices as well. Do you have any issue in your app which is Kindle specific?

We haven't built it yet. Just checking to see if would be supported.

I have a Kindle Fire HD 8.9, System version 8.5.1_user_5159720 (Android 4.0.4, API 15) and it does not support WiFi P2P.
