I have the Android SDK Tools Rev 21 and the Kindle Fire HD 8.9'' rev 2 package in Eclipse but when I try to launch the emulator I get the skin with a black display (not even the Android logo). I'm on a Mac and all the other KF emulators work fine. I'm guessing that it's an issue with the high resolution (1200x1920) as I saw other people on StackOverflow having similar issues when trying to emulate tablets with that resolution. Has anyone been able to make it work?
I still could not get it working completely unless I edited the emulator's config.ini and changed hw.mainKeys=yes. This allowed the Home/Back etc. softkeys to show at the bottom of the screen. Without that, the same keys on the skin did not work and it made it a bit difficult to operate my app :-)!
Hi, Thank you for your post. While creating the KF-HD 8.9 emulator make sure to enable the "Display a skin with Hardware controls" option in emulator. This would automatically enable the soft key toolbar on emulator even without any change in the config.ini file. Make sure to update below libraries under your Android SDK manager.
