Pricing question

Hello, Just had a few questions about the app store: 1. If I submit an app and price it at $.99, amazon can still make it free if the other related apps in the marketplace are similarly priced? 2. Do I gain any type of royalties from free apps? Thanks!

Hi Moneymitch, Thank you for writing to us. The answer goes below. 1) No. If your app has a price associated with it, the only time Amazon would make it free would be in the context of the Free App of the Day program ( https://developer.amazon.com/post/Tx2CE37E42FQM8M/Submitting-Your-App-for-FAD-Consideration.html for more information). 2) You will not receive royalties for the download of applications which you mark as free. However, there are other monetization strategies for apps that are free to download, such as incorporating ad or in-app purchasing: ( https://developer.amazon.com/post/Tx2DM396B7OVY2M/How-Amazon-Helps-You-Monetize-Your-Apps.html)
