White space on apps/books developed for Fire 7

I used Flash CS6 to develop an app for Fire Tablets and am testing on a Fire 7. I set the stage to 1024 x 600, but when I load on device (landscape) I get about 1/4" white space on right and left sides. I noticed this also happens when I load a book I developed from Kindle Kids Book Creator. How do I access the whole screen with no white space?
