Android MediaPlayer GetDuration is 0

Hi, I am testing a video using the android mediaplayer object, while trying play this i am also trying to get the Duration of the clip using the getDuration method after the video is prepared. I tested with a HTTP progressive download file and in that case I am getting the correct value. I am getting 0 value for HLS streams. (m3u8 feed).... the same HLS stream on other android devices I am getting correct value. Only on Fire TV I am getting this 0 value. I am not sure if this Hardware/Firmware issue. Can someone give some thoughts. Thanks in advance Larry
