How can i debug/log from the Fire TV

I'm quite new at app programming, but i have an app that i have that works fine on Android phones and tablets and now i'm converting the app to a Fire TV app. Then i need a too debug so that i really see whats happening( specially when i'm trying to get the controllers to work properly. At least i would need to have a log file. Is this possible? Do i need to root my Fire TV?

Hello Mazzra, You shouldn't need to root the FireTV device at all for debugging your application. We do have a document for how to connect to your FireTV device using the Android Debug Bridge at : https://developer.amazon.com/public/solutions/devices/fire-tv/docs/connecting-adb You are correct in that you would want log files depending on your input events when troubleshooting the controller , and we do have documentation to speak specifically to what events you will need to be listening to in your app, and what values you should act on depending on your app's functionality with the FireTV remote and/or FireTV Game Controller. For FireTV Remote input: https://developer.amazon.com/public/solutions/devices/fire-tv/docs/amazon-fire-tv-remote-input For FireTV Controller input: https://developer.amazon.com/public/solutions/devices/fire-tv/docs/amazon-fire-game-controller-input If you have any additional questions, please let us know and we can see what we can do to point you in the right direction.
