fire stick and old tv with s-video

trying to use fire stick with older tv with no hdmi connection. bought converter Keedox hdmi to rca and s-video converter. set it all up and I get only a black and white picture when I try to see a amazon prime movie. suspect converter is the issue. anyone used a converter that works???
