Prevent Sleep for Digital Signage

We've enabled the "Prevent Sleep for Video Playback" option for our digital signage HTML5 web app. However, this does not prevent the device from sleeping after 30 minutes. When video *does* play in that 30 minute timeframe, the device does not go to sleep. Does the "Prevent Sleep for Video Playback" option only work when a video player is triggered? Is the only workaround using a native APK using the KEEP_SCREEN_ON flag?

Hi hmjosh, Yes, a video needs to play during that timeframe. One workaround is, as you said, to use a native APK using the KEEP_SCREEN_ON flag, but another option would be to play a invisible extremely small video at certain defined intervals to satisfy the playback requirement.
