updating a "transferred app"

Hello

I have two apps that were updated regularly without any problems.

Then the apps have been sold and transferred from one developer account to the other developer account. While this transfer process had taken some time - ultimately now the two apps are in the buyer's developer account. Both apps are LIVE and seem to work fine.

However updating these two apps causes a submission error. The error is this: Dear Amazon Appstore Developer, The app has faced publishing error. The possible reason for this failure is that the appID [removed] is not owned by the developer. You are requested to resubmit the APK once again with the API key injected.

1. The mentioned appID seems to be the same as what the Amazon App Portal calls an Application Key. And this seem to be Amazon generated value and there's no way to modify it by clicking Edit in Amazon App Portal. 2. What does the "API key inject" mean? Should something be added to the manifest.xml ? 3. Does any of this have to do with a Security Profile? We don't use GameCircle.

Bottom line: how to update apps that were transferred from one developer account to another developer account (and had no prior problems being updated on frequent basis) ?

PS1 I have replaced the last four characters of the appID (Application Key) due to privacy. If you need them let me know. PS2 I have also reported this to ContactUs but the response on the forum is usually faster and we are really in a hurry to quickly solve this issue. (we've got some bugfixes that we want to publish)

Can anyone from Amazon team reply? It looks weird that a "transferred" app no longer can be updated. I have access both to the seller's account and buyer's account. Full admin privileges on both accounts.

Extreme actions, extreme measure:

UPDATE; My Williams was kindly enough to immediately put me in contact with 4 of his staffers to investigate the problem.

Dear Mr. Williams,

two months ago my company has sold two games to another company. The whole process was not smooth - it took 3 weeks to transfer the apps from seller's account to buyer's account.

Google and Apple take 3-5 days to do the transfer.

Finally after 3 weeks of waiting and begging the transfer has been done. The two games are LIVE and making revenue for us and for your company.

However now we have a new problem. We can't update these two transferred apps on Amazon Store. These two apps are stuck at version 1.1.71 while on Google Store we have updated the apps and are now at version 1.1.98.

This puts your users at an disadvantage for not enjoying the latest improvements and bugfixes that we have made in the recent versions. Similarly it us developers at an disadvantage working with a Store that has this kind of frustrating issues. We don't experience this kind of issues with Google and Apple Stores.

We have raised this issue with your engineers through Amazon "ContactUs" channel. We have raised this issue on your official app developer forum. In neither case nobody from your stafff has responded.

Your ARPDAU and APPU are better than Google or Apple Store - so this makes it even more of a shame that some parts of your Store lack so much behind Apple and Google. Namely the transfer process. And namely the updating of transferred Apps.

respectfully, Damjan Lampret Kulfun Games d.o.o. (on behalf of Seller) Pocket Parade LLC (on behalf of Buyer)

Here is your message to us: damjan@kulfun.com has contacted the Amazon Support Team.

Message: I'm trying to update a new version of the game called "Colonies vs Empire". This app has been sold, and as result of that transferred from Kulfun Games account to Pocket Parade LLC account.

While trying to update the app with a new version the following message is reported after submitting: The app has faced publishing error. The possible reason for this failure is that the appID [removed for privacy]

My understanding is that the "App id" you refer to is automatically generated and assigned by Amazon. And I can't change it.

What kind I do so that my new update version will pass your submission?
