Wi-Fi Direct between Fire TV and Kindle HDX?

Do HDX tablets and Fire TV have the hardware required to establish a p2p connection between them? I'd like to stream data between the devices without going through a router. I've seen in another post that both devices support the Android API for discovering and establishing wifi direct connections (android.net.wifi.p2p), but it wasn't clear if these devices have the hardware to establish such a link. Thanks.

Hi Trev, Sorry for late response and thank you for bringing this up. I see below WifiDirect sample works in KF HDX and partially works in Fire TV http://www.androidside.com/docs/resources/samples/WiFiDirectDemo/index.html Fire TV can discover the devices available but could not connect. But I can connect HDX with other HDX devices and Generic Android devices. I am forwarding this issue to concerned team.
