question

Hi, I've tried searching but can't find much for answers. I've got a Fire TV box (version 1) and a couple different fire sticks. How can i tell which version fire stick i have? Also, the remotes on all of them pretty much seem to get stuck on moving in a direction. For instance, if I hit the down arrow a couple times, it'll keep going down past where it should. Of if I hold down a direction on the remote, it'll go down way past when I let go of the direction button. Is there any way to fix this? It happens alot over and over and is very annoying. I hope this is the right place to post this? Thanks!
