How to properly display ads in a fireTV HTML5 application?

This question as two points: 1- How exactly can I display an ad (advertisement) within my HTML5 fireTV app, given that fireTV doesn't allow apps to open links in the system web browser? (I don't even think it comes with a browser does it?) Most HTML ad engines simply render an iframe in the page with the ad content and its clickable links. But the since users of my app won't be able click on those links anyway... what's the point for the advertiser? Am I expected to allow link navigation in my app? Or does the fireTV have its own ad framework that I have to use that allows the users to follow links? 2- If the point above is at all possible, are there links to design guidelines for ads on the fireTV (e.g. standard ad sizes and placements)? Thank you PS: If there's no way to display relevant ads with clickable links... you do I monetize a free app?

Hi there, Thanks for posting! At least from our perspective in regards to Amazon ads, this isn't supported currently on Fire TV. Please see more info in our FAQ here: https://developer.amazon.com/public/solutions/devices/fire-tv/docs/amazon-fire-tv-sdk-frequently-asked-questions In regards to monetisation for a free app, Fire TV still fully supports IAP, so if your app requires it, you can lock certain content behind a paywall for the user to purchase the full experience. This entirely depends on the type of app that you're creating though and if IAP can even be justified within it. For more info, please see here: https://developer.amazon.com/public/apis/earn/in-app-purchasing Regards, Jamie
