Triggered by failure of whole house security system, I had the following thought. Would be nice if someone could develop an Alexa app that would respond to a specific command, something like "Alexa I am leaving" that would result in Alexa listening for untoward sounds in vacant house/room, such as breaking glass, objects, doors, and immediate text of default user phone number to alert of emergency. By making that an automatic txt, overcomes issue of thief breaking in and stealing even the Echo device before an alert is made and by having the txt go to owner of the Echo device, overcomes objection of police who want physical confirmation of intruders before dispatching officer.
