Merch Purge - Move the Date UP to November 1st!

If the intent of the 60-day purge policy is to make the Merch system run more fluidly, to alleviate the issues and bugs in processing, then I, for one, would be all for moving the date of the purge up to November 1st, rather than November 15th. I trust Amazon when they say that this purge will be in our best interest as content creators, so why wait? With Q4 about to kick into high gear I'd be much more interested in having a system that is running smoothly as soon as possible, so why add an unnecessary two weeks by waiting until the 15th? Flush the non-sellers, start knocking out the copycats and IP infringement, and get this Merch beast rolling! If you have faith in your designs, then having a smooth system to facilitate sales of your new designs is much more important than losing your dud shirts, even if it amounts to 50%+ of your portfolio.

C'mon Merch! Let's do this thing! Just like a band-aid...rrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiippppp it off QUICK!

Mike, have you been on Merch in the last week? The system has enough problems that it is trying to resolve, without having to clear out deadwood designs - which has nothing to do with copycats, that is another issue.

True. But on the other hand... if they get rid of the deadwood (and all the crappy repetitive designs) then maybe just maybe they can fix some of the issues.

If they are going to implement anything before the Holidays, I would say the sooner the better in order to work out problems that certainly will arise.

I'm operating under the assumption that Merch wouldn't be implementing this policy at all if they didn't think it would help the system run more smoothly as a result. So maybe, fixing the issues and THEN purging the system is putting the cart before the horse, so to say. My suggestion is to, on November 1st, purge the dead weight, thus cleaning up the system to allow for smoother sailing. As it stands, the purge will occur on the 15th and will be immediately followed by mass re-uploads which are likely to further degrade the system, all at the time that Q4 typically begins to kick into high gear. Bottom line: if this is intended to be good for the system, why wait? Do it now and let's move forward.
