Not sure if this is the right place for this, but Alexa seems to have developed some strange problems of late. One is with the use of the word "OK". If you are in Follow-up mode and say "OK" after adding or deleting an item on your shopping list, for example, Alexa will add the item again, or delete the item you mentioned if you selected it by number. If you say, "Delete number 2", Alexa does it. If you respond, "OK" to her acknowledgement, she will delete number 2 again, which is not what you wanted, of course. This happens with adding items too. It also happens with weather. If you say, "OK" after the weather, she starts over from the top, repeating the forecast. Actions that can't reasonably be repeated, like going home, result in a beep, which seems right.
Secondly, I asked Alexa who was her favorite author. This was a question suggested in the "Try ..." suggestions that appear on the Echo Show screen. She responded, "Neil Gaiman". So, I asked, "Alexa, show me books by Neil Gaiman." I expected her to show me listings on Amazon for current titles by this author. She responded, "Sorry, I don't know that." Variations on this request met with similar failure, mostly, "Sorry, I don't know how to help you with that." Even when I said, "Alexa, I want to buy a book by Neil Gaiman," she responded, "Sorry ..." Now that's a no-no. One would assume the whole point of having a "favorite author" might be to stimulate interest, and thereby sales, of that author's books on Amazon. If Alexa can't shop for those books, then she's just a talking box.
