Why did my testers not receive a LAT invitation email?

The most common reason your testers did not receive an invitation email is because their Amazon email preferences are preventing the emails from being sent.

Invitations for your Live App Testing app can only be sent when your tester's email address is included in the marketing communications from Amazon. It's important to emphasize again that it's not you (the developer), but rather the other party (your tester) has to perform certain steps on their side to be able to start receiving invitations.

Therefore, please ask each of your testers to perform the following actions:

  • - go to
  • - if prompted to login, then login with your Amazon account, using the same email address that you want to use for Live App Testing
  • - on the "Communication Preferences Center" locate the "Promotional Emails" (the last section)
  • - click the down arrow on that section to expand it
  • - in the list of departments, put a checkmark next to "Amazon Appstore"
  • - click the "Update" button

On your side (as a developer) please make sure that you added the tester's email address to the Testers pool in the Live App Testing portal, and then assigned that address to the active testers list for the app. This should be the email address that your tester uses as the login email to their Amazon account (the one they set communication preferences for in the step above). To trigger invitation emails to be re-sent, either remove the tester from the active testers pool and then re-add them back; OR stop the current test, and start a new one.

Your tester needs to opt-in only in the marketplace (e.g.,, etc) that they login to with the email address that was added to the Testers pool. If they use the same email address to login to several Amazon marketplaces, then opt-in at each of those marketplaces.

As a workaround, your tester can use any email address (even if it's not tied to an Amazon account), and they should still receive an invitation. In the invitation email, there is a URL link that they will need to follow to a specific Amazon marketplace. After clicking that URL they will need to login to their Amazon account (even if they use a different email address to login to Amazon).
