Deprecation of the Chinese Version of Amazon Appstore

As of July 17, 2023, Amazon no longer supports the Chinese version of the Amazon Appstore. Previously downloaded apps and in-app purchases remain available on customers’ devices as long as customers do not remove those apps, though customers are no longer able to make in-app purchases, download new apps, or update apps on the Chinese version of the Amazon Appstore after July 17, 2023.

This article aims to shed light on impacts to the Amazon Appstore developer community after this deprecation on July 17, 2023:

If I am a developer who distributes an app on the Chinese version of the Amazon Appstore, is there any impact on my app submissions, updates and developer portal?
After this deprecation, developers are no longer able to distribute apps in China. Developers can continue to upload apps to the Amazon Appstore for distribution in other countries/regions around the world through the Amazon Developer Console.

At this time, the only change on the Developer Console is that apps only available for distribution in China will be moved into “Suppressed” status. Apps that include distribution in China will remain in “Live” status.

For more information about how to distribute apps internationally, please refer to this page.

If I am a developer who distributes an app on the Chinese version of the Amazon Appstore, what should I do with any end customer inquiries?
For all China-based end customer inquiries, please direct them to the Amazon Customer Service team at:

If I am a China-based developer, can I still distribute on the Amazon Appstore?
Amazon continues to welcome and support all China-based developers to upload and publish apps through the Amazon developer portal to reach a broad international user base. We look forward to working with you in future.
