API access to recorded history

Hi, I need an option to access/search/stream recorded history. Such an ability exists in Alexa app but it will be very useful if this will be allowed through Echo interface as well. Thanks.

These features have to do with the device, not the service. If you wrote your own device software using AVS, then you could do this, but only for your device. The service, Alexa, does not provide this. And for privacy concerns, I don't think it ever will (see other thread where you asked this). I could be wrong, but it seems unlikely given the great effort Amazon have made to reduce as many privacy concerns as possible about The Echo. If I were you, I wouldn't base a business plan around Amazon doing this feature.

I need this for each customer accessing his/her own recorded history from his/her own Echo device. I understood your opinion first time when you answered my question. There is no need to repeat it twice. As per privacy concerns and use cases for the requested API, I'd rather discuss this issue with official representative, having in mind that Echo is listening for every word people say around it just to turn on the blue ring on word "Alexa".

>There is no need to repeat it twice. You asked it twice. It's a new thread. Some people, when they have a question, search the forum for other people who with the same question, and look at the answers so they don't ask the same question twice. >I'd rather discuss this issue with official representative, Yes, well, good luck with that. If you read the forum a bit more you will discover that Amazon's replies are limited to (a) advice on solving simple questions and (b) passing on suggestions to the "relevant team". There are many issues many of us would like to discuss with Amazon. Particularly around the certification process, where they won't even engage in a discussion about their interpretation of the rules they use to reject your skill. The closest you are going to get is the collective opinion of the people who've been active in the forum for a long time, published a bunch of skills, or have a long term experience attempting to second guess Amazon's intentions and motives. It's slightly more accurate than reading entrails. But until Amazon change their policy and choose to engage with the community, that's all there is.
