Allow skill list to be sortable by date, rating and popularity

There are too many skills now posted to really be discoverable in the skills list as-is. One thing that would help is if it could be sorted by posting date, user rating, and either unique customer count or total invocations count. That way users could more easily discover new skills, and skills other users found valuable. That would encourage people to develop interesting skills that benefit the user base. Rather than narrow market or demo skills, which currently bulk out the list.

Was just thinking that a sort-by-date feature is going to be almost a requirement for anyone who wants to review skills. Otherwise you'd need some sort of scraping script to list all skills and diff against a baseline list to find if there were any new skills at any given point.

I definitely think the skills list viewer on the app has room for lots of improvement. First of all, it is too wasteful of screen real-estate now. We need * at least a mode that is more condensed, or spreadsheet like. * categories, and a way to choose which categories to view * sort by date (as previously suggested) * a separate way to get at apps that are already enabled. * probably many more, but the above would be a big help...

Yes! I agree. I'm hoping that this will get fixed if they ever bring out a skills store... ...which leads me to this slightly off-topic question (apologies since this isn't really the appropriate forum for this). But has anyone noticed that the skills are actually tucked away in a corner of the Amazon store, complete with a price tag on them (of $0.00). Has this been there all along, and I just never noticed? Here's an example: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017YBAFW0?ref_=cm_cr-mr-title

Cool! How did you find yours? Can you browse through the skills using the amazon.com frontend?

As of now, I don't think you can. It was a complete fluke that I found this: I was looking at my Amazon profile and noticed that an Alexa skill I reviewed showed up under my "activities" along with other Amazon products. I clicked on my review and was -- surprisingly -- taken to a page like the one I linked to. So, to get to your skill, it seems you have to review it first! So, that's what I did: reviewed my skill, went to my profile, and got the think to the page. Then I deleted the review of my own skill. Don't know how long that's been there, or what it means, if anything, about the eventuality or timeline of a skill store.

It only makes sense they use the normal Amazon shopfront. I don't know why they created their own half-arsed one first. Clearly they need more work on integration. There is no "buy" button, or categorization, etc. But you would think it would be easier to integrate to the real store than go through all this effort of create a half-arsed shop front. Shrug.
