New FireTV device - AFTN

Is there a new FireTV device out there with the AFTN signature? We saw today a hit from such device against our server. Looking at the logs, it came from Seattle, and was first preceded by AFTT device).

This is the UA of that device:

"Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 7.1.2; AFTN Build/NS6210; wv) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Chrome/55.0.2883.91 Mobile Safari/537.36 cordova-amazon-fireos/3.4.0 AmazonWebAppPlatform/3.4.0;2.0"

Based on that signature, it has a newer Android version, and a better JavaScript support.

Is there any documentation about it? Do we need to support it? Or is it rather a hacking attempt?

Thank you, Jacek

Another app was hit with that signature.

If that is a legit device, and Amazon is trying to automatically test/add already approved apps to this device, then setups like ours (we deny access to this device) need to be relaxed, to have apps be tested and if OK, then added to that device. Otherwise, we will need to resubmit (what is a pain, if someone has a bit of apps).

Add to that a device with AFTA signature that is otherwise identical to AFTN signature.

Also, both AFTA and AFTN devices looks like are located in India, although one in South and one in North.

Since AFTN device was officially introduced, and will be available soon, how apps already approved for other devices (e.g., AFTT, AFTS) be available on this new one? Per my initial post, we saw a bit of activity (now we know from Amazon) about a month ago using that new signature. In our case, our servers deny any access to unknown devices, so whatever Amazon was trying to do was basically getting failures.

Will we need to resubmit our apps, will there be another round of similar testing, or those apps will be automatically approved working or not (potentially no reason for those to not to work)?

Thank you, Jacek

PS.

Would be nice if a few days before the official availability at least one such device be available to those developers that have active apps, so in case any fast tweaks need to be done, we had time to resubmit our apps. That could help Amazon to avoid issues that surfaced during the last F/W update.
