When will Echo devices (Original, Dot 1, Dot 2, Tap) be able to control or send commands to Fire TV devices?

Alexa echo devices linked to Fire TV (Would be nice if an always listening device could do the same functions as the voice remote... The functionality is already there ... who wants to reach for their remote and press a button when you could just say "Alexa,... start netflix etc..." if you already have an echo device

Well developer have access to the Far-field control of Fire TV API?

Any idea when this will be coming to the UK? I know people that have it working in the UK but not everyone, it worked without them knowing or doing anything. Amazon device support team say that the feature is not available in the UK, even though I've seen it work
