Hi,
I installed the Web App Tester from Amazon Appstore, then pushed my amazon.sdktester.json to the device, then installed the App Tester from Amazon Appstore. The web app i am testing still gives me a popup telling me to install the SDK tester. I have run the tester and it seems to be an updated version of what is described here:
(it has more fields than described on the instruction page). I have also tested this by hosting the button pusher sample with the same result. Help?

i wasted half a day trying to find the Web App Resources zip which you are talking about and was unable to do so: none of the zips I downloaded from Amazon contained an APK. i installed the version of the IAP SDK Tester from Amazon App Store HERE and that is what we are trying to use. If there is a better tester available, please post a link to the zip file it is contained in; none of my downloads contained one.
The tester is now working in that it answers all the calls, but the popup still appears every time the API is loaded, which is annoying but manageable. The typo on the filename above was my error made here; the json file is properly loaded as noted above and functioning.

I have accepted my own answer as I got through this pretty much on my own. I appreciate the responses from Levon@Amazon but they did not assist me in using the dev tools.

The amazonm.sdktester.json file is in /mnt/sdcard/amazon.sdktester.json as per instructions here --> https://developer.amazon.com/public/solutions/platforms/webapps/docs/testing-iap.html#SDK Tester Environments
...and can be viewed in the SDK tester app in the section "Items in JSON File." However, anything done in the webapp tester brings up the dialog "Please install the IAP SDK Tester..."

Have you installed the SDK Tester as per instructions on this page: https://developer.amazon.com/public/apis/earn/in-app-purchasing/docs-v2/iap-sdk-tester-for-webapps#load-the-sdk-tester
Load the SDK Tester (AmazonSDKTester.apk) included in the Web App Resources zip file using the following command:
adb install AmazonSDKTester.apk
Also, you mention your JSON file as "amazonm.sdktester.json" -- it should be "amazon.sdktester.json", please see here how to copy it to your device:
