Is there a way to set/increase the session length?

I have deployed Alexa application kit samples by following the "Using the Alexa AppKit Sample Apps". It seems like Alexa closes the session when user does not respond for a certain time. Is there a way to set that duration? Or, make Alexa to wait until user closes the session? Thank you in advance, Gokhan

Hi, This was asked at the Amazon Developer Convention last Saturday. Short answer is no. The session length is 8 seconds, and there's currently no way to set it to a shorter time. So if Alexa doesn't hear back from a user in that time it closes the session. The user can also close the session themselves by saying "Alexa, quit." Long answer is that they're looking into extending the session time and/or giving apps the ability to have prolonged sessions. They couldn't give a specific date when that would happen.

The session will end when the developer instructs the session to quit, the user says "Alexa exit," or if the session times out due to inactivity. At this time it is not possible to extend the inactivity duration.
