We value Merch By Amazon and would like to help strengthen the platform by voicing a concern about image protection - or lack thereof.
Our concern has to do with image preview size and watermarking -- particularly in reference to design theft. This concern arises from the fact that every one of our Amazon-only designs has been stolen, pixel-for-pixel. These thieves are downloading the un-watermarked, large resolution previews that Amazon provides on the product page. Unfortunately, because of this oversight we have had to use the Amazon infringement tool to report offenders, and are now fighting a constant battle with third party sites via DMCA take-down notices.
We have also noticed that the very passionate MBA design community has voiced their concerns on this subject as well - but has been met with silence by Amazon. Unfortunately, this lack of communication on this issue leaves us extremely hesitant to upload any new artwork until there is some type of image protection in place.
So, we respectfully ask: What steps are being taken by Amazon to combat this problem of pixel-for-pixel design theft?
