Increase Alexa Response timeout

Is there any way to increase the Alexa processing time out. Sometimes when processing my request takes more than 6-7 seconds, Alexa responds back saying processing your request took time so she cannot process my request.

Not presently. Several people have made feature requests for it. If you aren't using lambda, you can try to adjust your dialog to make the request sooner in the conversation. Or to ask them some question they need an answer to. Or tell a joke...
