Kiosking an Alexa Skill

Does anyone know if it is possible to 'kiosk' an Alexa Skill (ideally simply in testing mode), such that the Echo responds to one particular skill (or group of skills) and nothing else? Thanks in anticipation. Best, John

No way, that I know of. It will always respond to native "skills" - timers, weather, etc. (Obviously, you can disable 3rd party skills in the app.) Steve

If you are looking for a packaged solution, say for a stand at a conference, you might consider "making your own Echo" and hooking it up with AVS. I haven't studied their API, but I suspect you might be able to hook it up and just not avail of the native services. You can either truly build your own device, with, say, a Rasberry Pi board, a good quality microphone and speaker. Or use a laptop as a base and work around that. Just a thought, in case being The Echo specifically isn't important.

Even with the hardware/device you build yourself with AVS, it still has all/most of the native skills. Skills go in AVS not Echo nor any device.

am working on a public facing Alex Show app, a kiosk mode (configured via Alexa app on phone) would be great for security of the Show
