Alexa With a Twitch

Amazon's Charlie Kindel has tweeted that tonight's (Feb 18) Amazon Alexa Tech Talk in Seattle will be webcast via a new "AmazonAlexa" channel on Twitch. The event is scheduled for 6:00PM to 9:00PM PST. This should be viewable on the big screen via the Twitch app for Fire TV/Stick - or on any other Twitch supported device. Setup can take a few minutes so you might want to start early if you haven't previously used Twitch.

Just got the app for Fire TV and it's pretty useless. No search capability, no way to save favorite channels. Unless the AmazonAlexa channel is right on the front page of 'featured' channels (and it's not), it won't be easy to find. I'll try viewing from my laptop instead.

For Twitch Fire TV App, search is the magnifying glass symbol at the top of the left menu. The text entry UI for new or not-yet-popular channels could indeed use some work.

@t3 I don't see any magnifying glass icon, and no matter which navigation buttons I push I can't get the selection highlight to move away from the 'featured' channel lists anyway.

April, I'm remote from Fire TV and can't check, but maybe the UI changes if you sign in with a Twitch account? An easy alternate way to watch is: http://www.twitch.tv/amazonalexa from many/most web browsers.

@t3sb >maybe the UI changes if you sign in with a Twitch account? No way to sign in. There is no user/function menu, there are no icons, there are no text fields or buttons. Others have said the same about the Fire TV version of the app, so I know it's not just me. Anyway, I can watch on my laptop. =')

...or not. ='/ Signed in at 6, then I saw the notice that the stream would begin at 7. 7:09PST, still looking at a black screen. I'm just gonna wait till tomorrow and watch the recording. Hopefully it'll be up then.
