Targeting FireTV devices. FireTV devices appear manually excluded

After uploading the binary Amazon Fire phones and tablets and Non-Amazon Android devices are filtered out correctly and appear UNSUPPORTED based on <uses-featureandroid:name="android.hardware.touchscreen"android:required="false"/> and <uses-featureandroid:name="android.hardware.type.television"android:required="true" /> in my AndroidManifest file.

However the FireTV devices also appear as EXCLUDED. Upon clicking the Edit Device Support I get the following message, where I can select the three devices manually. Is there a way these 3 devices get selected automatically based on my AndroidManifest file?

Amazon Fire TV If you intend to target this device, you should ensure that your app:

Without controller support, your app will fail testing for this device and will delay launch on Amazon Appstore. Fire TV (2014)— AFTB Fire TV Stick— AFTM Fire TV (2015)— AFTS

Hi there,

Thanks for posting! Your observation is correct in that Fire TV devices appear excluded, even though your app supports Fire TV. Several months ago we switched to automatic manifest filtering for all uploaded apps, so Dev Portal scans the manifest and automatically enables devices that the app can potentially support. The issue is that at the moment only Amazon tablets and non-Amazon phones and tablets get automatically enabled, but for Fire TV developers have to manually go into the 'Binary File(s)' tab, then 'Device Support' section, click the 'View Device Support', hit 'Edit' in that popup dialog, and then manually put the switch into the ON position (supported) for Fire TV devices. Apologies for any inconvenience this might have caused you, and I hope you can submit your app successfully now.
