Does FireTV allow reader apps where you create an account and make payment for a pay-per-view video event elsewhere on a web page first and then come into the FireTV app - log into that account and view the video content ?
It seems the answer would be “yes” since apps such as Netflix and Hulu do that. A user would make a payment for the Netflix or Hulu services elsewhere, and then use the FireTV app as a reader app that has no in-app purchasing. However, my app which does the same thing is constantly getting rejected stating that I must use the Amazon payment API.
Your app makes digital content available for purchase inside the app, charges end users to use the app or its content, or facilitates non-Amazon account creation. Therefore, to be made available on the Amazon Appstore, it must use Amazon’s In-App Purchasing API (or other methods we make available to you) to process payment for such content, and may not facilitate or direct customers to use any other payment method (including hyperlinks or QR code) for Content intended to be used within your Mobile App
Our app does not offer the user the ability to create an account or make a payment in the FireTV app so it shouldn’t be rejected. A user isn't given any option to create any purchase whatsoever within our app. We have no hyperlinks or QR codes that lead a user elsewhere to make any purchase. The reviewers are just copying/pasting their documentation and they don’t send screenshots or indications of which part of the app is in violation. This has been going on for many months. Does anyone know how to get the review issue escalated?
