API or Other Way?

We are creating a web application and we will be showing users products on our page that are listed on Amazon by other vendors. Our goal is to allow the user to make the purchase on the linked Amazon site then connect the purchase and delivery info back into our site so the user can follow the status on our site without having to dig through Amazon. What would we need to accomplish this? Thanks!
