Alexa triggers not reaching lambda function in vpc

My lambda VPC settings are -

Inbound -

All ports from

3.89.52.175/32

port 3306 from

172.16.0.0/16

I can test sending json from my alexa developer test console and I can see it logged in cloudwatch. I can also receive cloudwatch events, but my skill does not receive any external alexa triggers. I tried enabling and disabling the skill from the alexa app but nothing gets logged. I have verified that I have the correct alexa skill configured under tirggers as well as the correct lambda ARN on the skill.

What could be wrong ?
