Alexa suddenly stopped recognizing my skill's invocation name after years of working without issue

I have an alexa skill I developed that has worked for 3 years without issue. I have always been able to invoke the skill reliably.

However, starting recently, I am unable to invoke the skill at all. If I temporarily change the invocation name to something different and random, it works fine. But when I change it back, it stops invoking the skill again.

Looking at the transcriptions of conversations with alexa, regardless of how slowly and clearly I am saying the invocation name, Alexa keeps mishearing me and recording some similar sounding words.

What gives? How do I get alexa to understand my invocation name properly like it has always done?

Amazon are always modifying the Alexa system, lots of people report previously working invocations which then stop working. One option is to submit a "contact us" support case with your exact issue, this might work but IMO it's unlikely to change things. Definitely an avenue to persue though.

I saw another post from you regarding an invocation name of "aisle wise", if that the same skill ? If so then I can see why there could be a problem, "aisle" and "i'll" are too close utterance wise, this is why chosing an unambiguous invocation name is very important.
