[FFS] EchoDot Unable to Provision Network with the Requested Keys

Several months ago, I have requested keys to test the ffs function on my device and I have received 5 pairs of keys (Private key and Certificate) about one week later. Then, I used the keys to test my device with Echo Dot and the FFS function was working fine.

But recently (about one month ago), when I requested the key again, the rule may had changed. Instead of receiving 5 pairs of keys, I only received the DSS Public Key.

So I use the DSS Public Key to generate the Private key and Certificate on console and test again, the Echo Dot is unable to prevision network to my device as the hidden network that my device trying to connect is not match with the one Echo Dot generated.

All settings are the same, and I only changes the old keys with the newly applied pair.


I am not sure what I did wrong or what has been changed.

Please give me some advices, many thanks !!!


The detail of my application process is as follow:

1) I requested the Device Type Identifiers from https://developer.amazon.com/frustration-free-setup/console/onboard/request-device-registration

2) About a week later, I received the email from FFS support team with DSS Public Key

3) I used the DSS Public Key to generate DAK and DHA keys and in the end I have obtained private_key.pem and certificate.pem from https://developer.amazon.com/frustration-free-setup/console/manage-daks?apid=ctw3

4) I replaced the keys with the newly generated pair and tried to connect Echo dot within 5 mins after setup.

5) Connection failed.

Hi, yes, we did recently change the key distribution process.


Can you email ffs-support@amazon.com with all the logs associated with this failure? Once we have those, we can take a closer look.

I also have the same problem. And I also sent mail to ffs-support@amazon.com.. And I do not receive any response. Even I do not make sure whether ffs support receive my mail or not.

Could you kindly help to confirm what happened ?

Can you please suggest another way to discuss with you about this matter?

The problem is still there,

After I registered the Device Type and received the DSS Public Key, how to proceed next?
Do I need to pass these two steps to get echo dot able to connect?
